Question of the day (or week or month):
What is your all-time favorite Christmas present?
Frankly, I'm just not dedicated enough to title the blog "Daily Outlook". As something strikes me as interesting, quirky, irritating, or newsworthy, I'll post.

Mine has to be a pillow my brother gave me. It is a yellow surfboard with a green stripe with two black foot prints on it. He made the pillow for home ec, as I recall.
Why is it my favorite? Well, back in those days my brother and I were not great friends and partners in crime. In fact, we loathed each other. Being in the same room together was an adventure NO ONE should experience. Yet he knew how much I loved that pillow, and he gave it to me when it was done.
Funny aside, I remember opening the box and seeing what it was and losing my mind with excitement. I bounded across the room and jumped on top of him to give him a hug. The problem? He was holding scissors he had been using to open a box and nearly impaled me!
I don't think I've ever heard this story. It's adorable.
My favorite gift was probably the original Nintendo. Because I opened all my other gifts first and my parents had me hunt for one more gift. So it was like Christmas and Easter. I was so surprised and excited.
my favorite christmas gift memory is when my twin brother and i just turned 16 (December 22, 1995).
we opened all the really great gifts, but the last one was a purse for me and a pair of slippers for him.
inside of each gift was a keyring and a key. we pushed each other down the stairs to get to the garage and saw a 1987 Honda Civic with a HUGE red bow!
our very first crappy car!! OHBOY!!
it was great.
md - I liked your story. I'm glad it didn't end in tragedy.
When I was about 7 I got a robot.
It was programmed to come into my room and wake me up early Christmas morning.
It flashed its' lightbulb eyes at me.
It was about 1 foot tall and had a tape deck, alarm clock, beverage tray (?), "hands" that opened, a microphone and a wireless (!!!) remote.
It was amazing. All my cousins were jealous and I was in heaven.
I named him, "Robe-ee the Robot." Clever I know. (I also had a Teddy Bear named, "Ted D. Bear.") I was a clever namer.
